Firstly, you are outside! So there is no point in trying to replicate an inside pub perfectly. Embrace the fact that you’re where the plants are. Put a few plants on top of the bar area.

This way, it looks more like a natural part mancave products of your garden than something that’s been put where it doesn’t belong. Sure, you might look like a hippy, but who cares.

If you’ve ever seen the show “love island”, you should know about the concept of the fire fit. It’s essentially a structure that has a burning fire in the middle.

It provides warmth, but it’s also a great place to sit around and talk. To make it even better, you could even surround it with nice furniture, so people feel comfortable as they get warm.

It’s rare for a pub to only do drinks. Most do food too. This is why having an outdoor kitchen can be very helpful.

What you put in your kitchen depends on whether you can get gas and electricity. If you can put a working oven, plus a fridge, great.

You don’t need to buy proper neon; LED lights that display a fun message can help to bring character and joy whenever you invite people around.

Have it display a fun message such as “All night long” or even “live, laugh, love”. It should make people look and feel inspired.

But, maybe you want to look more like a traditional pub. If you walk around the UK, you’ll find pubs named with all sorts of funny and interesting names.

Why not get your DIY on and make your own pub sign. This is an excellent chance to show off your creativity and personality.

You could call it something common like The Kings Head or The Plough. Or, you could be creative and name it the “Duke of Bananarama”. Whatever you choose to call it, make sure it makes people laugh.

Stick some bamboo to your tables and chairs, and add palm leaves for shelter. Even use shells for decoration.
